I avoided maltodextrin to keep glycemic index in check and didnt flavor this at all so that I have the flexibility to add syrup and or fruit as I please. some potassium gluconate was added so that I could cut down on the chloride content contributed by potassium chloride. gluconate also regulates PH. xanthan gum quantity may be a bit high unless you like a thicker shake. sugar content can likely be cut if you plan on always using sweet additives like fruit or chocolate syrup.
