The goal of this formula is a compromise between

I tried the former but it's way more carbohydrates than I normally take in (I don't really eat sugar or grains). However, I'm not trying to go into ketosis, and the latter recipe has more fat than I can really stomach. LNS is meant to split the difference and keep everything else the same as far as possible. The fat/carb/protein ratios closely match what I normally eat (mostly eggs, salads with cheese, stir fry with chicken, and hummus with vegetables).

The name is my friend's term for the whole DIY soylent project (esp. the versions containing corn flour). For those who don't know, scrapple is pretty much the opposite of a superfood:
