Mixed up my first "3" days worth. I plan to transition to this through the week. Replacing more and more meals as I go.

That said, I just had a third of the day's mixture. Quid's recipe is labeled "Tasty!" At present, this is... not. I let it sit/soak in the fridge for an hour before drinking it; perhaps it will be a bit better if I let it sit longer. I'd used about 1.5L of cold filtered water; it might be better if I use more water.

Need to try some stuff because this "flavor" isn't going to work.

The blue corn masa 50lb bags are back in stock! The distributor is actually local, so I'll be picking it up in person tomorrow and saving myself ~$20 for the shipping. Then, I will finally have all the ingredients to get this going. :)

Note on the caffeine and l-theanine powder. I am not mixing these in to the soylent batch, but wanted to list them since they will be part of my daily intake. I've actually already begun using these for a few days. What I'm doing is making caffeine water and drinking half of it (~200mg) in the morning and then the other half after lunch. These are the times I would normally have coffee or soda, so my body currently needs that. I may reduce the amounts over time to wean myself off it entirely. I don't want the caffeine at night, so can't just mix it in to my entire soylent batch.

Visited Dr. and had baseline labs done. A few results were slightly out of normal range, but nothing worth talking about. Dr's only recommendation from labs was for me to take a 1000 unit vitamin D3 supplement, which conveniently enough was already part of my soylent receipe.

Also of note regarding my Dr. visit: He had never heard of soylent before (ok, no surprise there), BUT he seemed completely unphased by the idea. I explained the concept to him and it almost seemed that he received it as an ordinary was of doing things. I had expected some skepticism, and thinking that perhaps I hadn't explained myself well, I actually pulled up this recipe to better illustrate things. He made a recommendation regarding the salt and commented that this didn't seem at all radical to him. Cool.

This is my personal variant of QuidNYC's Superfood: https://www.completefoods.co/diy/recipes/quidnycs-superfood-for-him

I have ordered all ingredients from Amazon, using the links provided in the recipe, on January 10th and will be tracking my Soylent DIY journey here in the notes. To save on costs I have used Amazon's Subscription feature, so half of my ingredients will not arrive until February 3rd, with my normal Sub delivery.

I have made Soylent before, but have kept loose tabs on things as a patient initial backer. But this last round of delays... I could not wait any longer.

This recipe was tweaked to achieve a ~40c/20p/40f macro mix, based on the calculations I've done for my personal metrics. If you're a sedentary male in your 30s around 6' and 250lbs, then this might be good for you as well. But hey, I'm not even sure it's good for me yet, so no promises!
