SPACE FOOD v0.6 beta | 10 INGREDIENTS | $1.66//DAY
429 grams/day
- 4 meals @ 107.25g each + 12.5g oil | $0.42/meal
- 5 meals @ 85.8g each+ 10g oil | $0.33/meal
Changelog
Notes on getting closer to zero cost:
- Replace the choline and multivitamin in the buffer list to cut the cost by $0.10. That brings the cost to just above $1.50/day.
- If you you buy the masa and oat flour in bulk, this will probably bring the cost to below $1.50/day. Maybe $1.45? ' The cost of the protein is the consumer cost from MyProtein and since the site is always having sales, that theoretically brings the cost closer to $1.40 when taking the rest of the proposed costs from above into perspective.
- I'm not sure there is much more I can do to actually lower the cost aside from the above.
- I honestly believe this could be the cheapest, actually nutritionally complete meal on this site. The other recipes I've seen lack in some micronutrients and the macros aren't as balanced.
version 00.6 beta
- switched over to canola oil to hit a 4:1 ration of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acid content
- switched over to canola to get rid of any remaining inflammatory ingredients
- switched mas to Masa Brosa brand for less grit and easy bulk buying option
- switched from ground oats to oat flour source - Nat Grocers
- adjusted vitamin K content for oil but switched over to canola anyway. Canola hits target K goal.
- cleaned up buffer ingredients since most stuff from testing in v0.5 has wrapped up.
- leaving Nutricost choline bitatrate in buffer since I will switch once I need to re-up. Saves $0.01/day.
- adjusted weight to account for vitamin pill weighing 2 grams. I had it at 1 gram this whole time.
version 0.5 beta
- merging s and w branches together
- changed out protein to soy
- adjusted macros for a Mediterranean diet(it's currently between med and UIS diet macros)
- need to adjust sulfur in soy protein. I know it has some but donno how much. I probably hit the target amount - sulfur is fixed with nutrition profile of Honeyville Farms oat flour
- still toying around with adding caffeine and l-theanine for focus and such
- need to add olive oil to complete med macro diet - sticking with soybean to keep price down
- cheaper choline bitratrate in buffer but don't have it yet so i want to keep price at real point. Price different is ~1 cent a day
version 0.4w
- adjusted prices and amounts for carbs
- added ##BUFFER## for ingredients that I was playing around with
- this is basically a revamp of v0.3.1b
- changed the a and b versioning to s for soy and w for whey
version 0.3.1b
- removed super micros and electrolytes
- re-added multis and potassium/choline
- re-adjusted masa and oats
- added Vitamin C pill but only for my gout. Use it if you get sick a lot. - 1000mg extra/day
- may tweak amounts some more to bring macros closer to what I would prefer
- replacing SP v0.3b altogether.
- corrected quick measurements
version 0.3b
- added oat flour
- lowered masa
- lowered flaxseed meal
- replaced micros and electrolytes with Supers from SBF
- price increase quite a bit
version 0.2b:
- Whey and masa based
- using multivitamin, Potassium Citrate, and Choline bitartrate for micros
version 0.2:
- Masa base for carbs
- Tried to source as much of the faster consumables from Walmart as possible
- MyProtein for protein because it has a heck of a deal for registered users. Prices come to $31.99/5.5lb
- Swapped out psyllium Husk for flax seed meal as it is more readily available
- Using Axcho's Super Micros and Super Electrolytes to avoid pills
- Iron may be too high but it was hard keeping it out of the red while keeping everything else in the green
Version 0.1:
- Basically a carbon copy of PoLent
- Messed around with ingredients and such to get used to everything
- scrapped everything and started from the ground up
