Please post suggestions for making it cheaper or better without raising cost. Here's my reddit thread on PoLent. https://www.reddit.com/r/soylent/comments/7n45dt/diy_polent_cheapest_complete_nutrition_possible/

12/31/2017 Changed to non-iodized salt to prevent elevated iodine levels. Vitamin pill has 100% needed iodine. Lowered cost from $2.36 to $2.19 per day with cheaper source for Whey Protein Isolate Further lowered cost to $1.92 using cheaper soybean oil from Walmart

01/02/2018 First Taste Test I just mixed up my first sample batch of this recipe. It is strikingly bland to my pallet so used to rich and salty food. The Mesa Flour is grainy. Overall, it's not completely vile. The texture reminds me of eating/drinking the last dust from a box of cheerios, but with an unsalted corn chip flavor. I'll look for some variations to smooth out the texture. Bottom line, I could live on this. It fills the void.

2nd take - After leaving it in the fridge for a few hours, the masa flour soaks up water and swells. Texture is now like a watery thin Malt-O-Meal. Still edible and very filling.

01/04/2018 Cheaper With Soy Found some significant savings by using soy protein. If isoflavones are a concern to you, use this version: https://www.completefoods.co/diy/recipes/polent-wo-isoflavones-cheapest-complete-food-possible-without-isovlafones

01/05/2016 Finding the Calcium Chloride Balance Added Calcium Chloride (used in pickling, brewing, tofu and cheeses) to balance the sodium/chloride value Removed some salt and the Cal/Mag supplement

Cost down to $1.57 per day!

OPTION For an extra 8¢ per day, pre-mix the oil 50/50 with Maltodextrin to make encapsulated oil powder. https://www.amazon.com/Brewmaster-42884-MB-Maltodextrin-Bag-Pack/dp/B074KDRDJQ/ *This adds 200 Calories of carbs and sweeter flavor.

Calculate Calories. Always calculate your Caloric needs if going on a strict diet. Never trust the catch all 2000 number. https://www.completefoods.co/diy/nutrient-profiles/calculator
