At just under $7/meal, this is definitely not the cheapest Soylent recipe out there. However, this is engineered to be a performance and health enhancer as well as being nutritionally complete. Omega 6 fats have been backed off to maintain nearly a 1:1 Omega 6:3 ratio as is recommended (North American diets usually having way too many Omega 6 fats). Is there enough Omega 6? It is suggested that the initial investigation studying the effects of Omega 6 had a confound that resulted in a 5-15x overestimation in daily requirement (Wikipedia). The slightly high Calcium and Niacin are only mildly over recommended maximum levels. This much Niacin spread over a day is inconsequential, and this much calcium is offset by other metabolizing agents. Still, best to keep blood pressure under observation to ensure calcification is not occurring.
