Hypothyroidism can make it a challenge to get proper nutrition due to malabsorption issues. This recipe aims to attain at least 100% of the daily value in the vitamins/nutrients that hypothyroidism sufferers are known to have challenges with and where possible doubling the daily recommended dose where safe. Based on my research through a variety of resources these are the most common hypothyroidism vitamin/nutrient deficiencies:

  • Iodine
  • Magnesium
  • Riboflavin (Vitamin B2)
  • Selenium
  • Vitamin A
  • Vitamin B12
  • Vitamin C
  • Vitamin D
  • Zinc

I've struggled for years with Hashimoto's and when I eat normally but feel the thyroid symptoms are really setting in these are the nutrients I've added via vitamins to get myself back to sane. Your mileage may vary! Talk to your doctor and do your own research. Hypothyroidism is a complicated issue and each individual is different.
