To make this recipe into waffles, I first mixed all of the dry ingredients together. This includes the sulfer. I use half the sulfer pill in a day's recipe, so I get the capsules that you can take apart and dump half of one into the recipe. This does not include the vitamin or the choline pills, take those separately. Drink lots of water with these to make up for the lack thereof.

Not sure yet how I feel about the fat content. The oil helps the batter to not burn, and you do need fats, I just don't know if that's too much fat. Meh.

To make one batch, follow this recipe:

Waffles Recipe makes 1/2 a day's serving. To use entire day's worth of soylent, just double it.

Ingredients

  • 1.25 cups of soylent powder (half of the powder recipe)
  • 1.5 tablespoons oil (I use olive, I don't think it matters, though)
  • 1 large egg
  • 3/4 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

Put the powder into a medium bowl, add the cinnamon, milk, and egg and mix until combined. Heat waffle iron (I have a 'skinny waffle' iron, I don't know how this would work in a belgian style iron) to 4 (if numbers are an option, otherwise you'll have to experiment a bit on timing). Pour 1/4 cup of batter into the iron and close it. My waffles took about one minute to cook.

Share and enjoy! :D

F.A.Q.

What does cooking do to the nutritional value in soylent?

  • I have no idea. Find a lab and run me some experiments, k?

Why does this recipe actually taste like waffles when soylent doesn't?

  • My theory is that I use masa (cornmeal) in my recipe. This is a common ingredient in waffles and gives them their crunch. Soylent doesn't have that and, as far as my research has shown, tends to burn rather quickly when heated in the iron. Also, I add an egg, which keeps the batter together.
