Tordenskjold - Apr 11, 2014 4:10pm
I would say, unless you developed a mild acid reflux because of the soylent, it wouldn't be the cause. (Acid reflux doesn't always give the pain or burning) do you have more slime than normal? Throat clearing? Snot?

gannas - Apr 11, 2014 3:48pm
I agree here... any time you have a bad cough coming from your chest that persists for more than a week you should seek attention from a doctor. Regardless of whether soylent could be a contributing factor.
sharkerty - Apr 11, 2014 3:46pm
I do not. I wanted to use one in my nalgene bottle. I'll try and find one of these in a store and take measurements, unless someone here can do that for us? Bueller?
Tetsuo - Apr 11, 2014 2:34pm
I honestly suggest going to the doctor and having him/her take a look at it.The cause could be anything. If you get a blood test you might want to test for all vitamins and minerals so you can see what soylent is doing for you.
ploddinginsight - Apr 11, 2014 2:30pm
It could be a coincidence, but it might not. I think the solution might be to go off Soylent for 4 or 5 days, and then start again. If the cough goes away and then comes back according to the same time frame, I would consider that to be pretty conclusive.

I think that maybe you should consider using a mix of protein sources, and maybe using more variety of fats as well. It's probably best to look at this like a intake limit, if you are taking in less dAGEs than most people then it's unlikely to be an issue.…

Hmm, this makes me wonder if a protein cycling diet (to induce autophagy on a regular basis) would be an effective countermeasure. This article emphasizes avoiding fructose (as opposed to cooked meat or whatever) as the key to avoiding dAGE. At least…
wolfkeeper - Apr 07, 2014 6:04pm
I came up with a recipe like that. But then I deleted it. There's a subtle catch. There's something called dAGE (dietary advanced glycation endproducts) that are produced when you cook meat, that are thought to be seriously bad for you (basically they…
