These prices are all wrong. I assume that since QuidNYC made the recipe, the amazon stores have had a spike in sales and have decided to inflate their prices. I fixed the prices and here they are. http://diy.soylent.me/recipes/copy-of-quidnycs-ketofood-for-ongoing-ketosiswith-prices-fixed…

I find a good way to crush the tablet is to put it in the lid of the multivitamin bottle and crush it with a spoon. That way it doesn't go flying in bits everywhere. You then just invert the lid over your mixture and tap to get it all out.

Yes, it is to make it a bit sweeter and serves no other purpose.

The only potential source of Lactose would be the Whey Protein Isolate. The particular one being used here has no ingredients other than "pure" whey protein isolate. While there is no guarantee that it is lactose free it will be pretty darn near close.…

Glad you're enjoying the recipe! I don't see any reason not to take creatine. I guess you could mix it into the Soylent for extra convenience

Unfortunately no. This recipes original source is "People Chow 3.0.1" and even over there people have been wanting a replacement. There are others i have seen that use pills and such but i dont remember which ones. Though i might work on finding a replacement…

I got myself these scales which are ideal: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B000XXZAU4 I know what you mean about the dregs - it's all the larger oats sinking to the bottom. If you continuously swirl or mix while drinking, I find that helps.

Thanks for the interest. I am working on getting all the ingredients now to try making it. Once I am able to actually make it I will update with my impressions and make changes if needed for taste. One change I am thinking might be needed is adding Soy…

We obviously have differences of opinion on what qualifies as good research etc. And that's fine. As you said, there's risk involved with anything you choose to eat. I strongly believe that the risks are generally higher with most artificially produced/GMO/etc…

I think the taste is fine--fairly neutral. I like it 1000 better than using corn masa. The oat flour doesn't mix as well as I'd like it to, but I wouldn't describe the texture as too gritty. It's kind of like you have tiny bits of oatmeal that never quite…

Mega Men is nothing more than marketing and a name. Really you would be better to copy this recipe and use a nutrient profile matching your body. Then check the nutrients against that.

Hmmm The recipe is for one days worth. Powder without oil will last quite a while, powder with oil (makes it lumpy though if you mix oil in before water) will last a little less. Mixed with water, it should be treated as you would milk. Refrigerated.…

There are three protein sources. GNC is easy as it is on the bottle. Masa, most amounts are taken from the USDA then adjust based on you paticular brand. An example is Bobs redmill has higher iron content listed on the bag than listed in the usda data.…

Unfortunately this whole process is best educated guess. I went with usda's unenriched masa amounts. I do recommend however that you adjust your amounts to your masa as some, such as Bob's Red Mill do contain high iron. I think that is where the higher…

Shauncohen - Jun 18, 2014 8:03pm
Can you simply replace the Instant Corn Masa with Oat Powder or does it require added extra nutrients?
mtcummins - Jun 18, 2014 7:29pm
Sucralose is not a good additive to a superfood... too many health issues associated with it. To get the same effect (at a slightly higher monetary cost), w/o the negative health effects, I'd use a pure Stevia instead.
