Flying Spirit Airlines is committed to supporting members of the U.S. military, offering discounted fares to and from their destinations worldwide. Whether you’re traveling with your family or need some help planning your next corporate event, Spirit Airlines has you covered with their Military Discounts . Here are just some of the ways Spirit Airlines can help save you money on your next trip!
Are you eligible? Spirit Airlines Flights lets active-duty military personnel ride for free with their dependents. There's no catch -- and there aren't a lot of hoops to jump through either. If you're an active-duty service member (or retired or on reserve), you and your spouse or kids can ride for free, so long as you book together. That applies to all flights within North America, Mexico, Caribbean and Central America.
How much can you save? Generally, flights booked on Spirit airlines cost a lot less than those booked with other airlines. This is especially true if you take advantage of Spirit’s military discounts. Military discounts start at five percent for service members traveling alone, and increase up to 35 percent for families of five or more. It’s also worth mentioning that most discount programs end after 365 days from purchase, but Spirit offers a lifetime guarantee on their military discount— so as long as you book your flight before February 15th of next year, you’ll be able to use it later! In addition to saving money on your flight itself, Spirit Airlines Booking through a military travel agent can net you some pretty good deals on hotels and car rentals as well. The bottom line?
How does it work? Spirit Airlines, which is headquartered at Miramar Municipal Airport in San Diego, California, offers active-duty and retired military personnel many great benefits. If you have served or are serving our country, Spirit wants to give you extra opportunities to save money on tickets. You can enjoy discounts of $17 each way for up to a total of $35 per ticket on Main Cabin Extra and $59 each way for up to a total of $118 per ticket on first class flights. Simply show your valid military I.D. at Check-in Spirit Airlines and keep it handy when going through security (at any airport) and Spirit Airlines boarding pass your flight.
What discounts can you get on top of your discount? For military members and their families, discounts at some of your favorite stores aren’t enough. 3 Ways to Book Online (for maximum savings) Choosing to book online is always a good idea. Most Spirit Airlines discounts require you to book online, so it makes sense to learn about your options. The three ways you can book Spirit Airlines Tickets with Spirit airlines are via its mobile app, through their website and over the phone. Because not everyone has access to an Android or iOS device, we'll start with Spirit's traditional website Spirit Airlines Booking option. We also recommend that novice travelers attempt booking over a desktop or laptop computer rather than on mobile (where user experience is less than optimal). To fully understand Spirit's business model requires understanding how they make money: by selling seats at a very low cost and making up for it with fees and charges. For example, Spirit Airlines doesn't offer advance seat assignments; instead, you have to wait until Spirit Check-In. Spirit also offers a fee-based system of changing flights after purchase. If you change your flight within 24 hours of departure time, there is no charge; if you change it between 24 and 48 hours out from departure time, there is a $75 fee; if you change it more than 48 hours out from departure time, there is a $100 fee. However, these fees apply only when travel involves two or more flights (one way), which means that changing one leg of travel will incur no additional charge beyond any applicable change fee outlined above.
