A mix of different european recipes.
This is still work in progress. I have a very fine sense of taste, so I'm still trying to figure out how to make it tasty.
Progress log:
25.10.
-Made a batch with 1/4 amount of the ingredients.
-The taste wasn't too bad but almost gave me a gag reflex after drinking half of it. I couldn't even finish the whole thing which was aproximately 400-500 ml, although I was hungry.
-It needs a lot of water because it's very thick.
-The cocoa powder had almost no effect taste wise.
-The coconut milk wasn't tasteable either.
26.10.
I mixed different ingredients with each other to pinpoint taste and texture issues:
-The soy protein is like flour. It doesn't disolve in liquid but rather makes a liquid dough. Beside the flax seeds (pointed out in comments) this is the main culprit of making the texture so thick. Using more Water of different Protein will solve this. I don't want to use Whey (which would disolve) because it tastes disgusting.
-Soy protein on it's own tastes almost like nothing, only a very slight soybean flavour.
-The (combination with) coconut milk gives the distinct taste I tasted yesterday. It's not unpleasent but prevents me from drinking large amounts. I don't know if it's the taste or maybe just the amount of fat in the coconut milk thats repulses me after drinking some of it.
-I tried mixing in some cinnamon (although I perosnally don't like the taste). It made it taste better if you like cinnamon.
-MSM and Choline: One of these taste extremely acid. It's probably better to drink them own their own with orange juice.
todo:
-find ingredient for better taste
-figure out which ingredient makes it taste bad (probably the soy protein or the combination with oats)
-adjust recipe to make it less thick
-tweak/correct some nutrition data
