Core is intended to provide a balanced macronutrient ratio (40/20/40) similar to official Soylent. However, that's where similarities end. I've built the recipe from nothing but Canadian sources, all for less than $5 Canadian. It has more protein (~5% more) than Soylent, and less carbs, to promote muscle growth over unnecessary fast-acting energy. I also wanted to know exactly what I was consuming; I'm unaware of how much maltodextrin is in Soylent, which could be troubling.
I got the name much in the same sense that Soylent did. I named it after a food replacement in the Xcom series, used by the Advent during its reign over Earth.
Anyway, back to the recipe. If you want to know about my particular decisions, just ask. For the most part, it was simply picking the cheapest ingredients with acceptable quality. If you want to help, just tell me what you think I should do.
Notes:
• Chloride levels are acceptable; upper limit is meant to discourage overconsumption of Sodium chloride only.
• Phosphorus levels in whey protein powder are based on the USDA Nutrition Database stats for whey protein isolate.
• Not yet tested or created. That said, it will likely be a drink much like Soylent.
• Taste should be fine; the protein powder comes in many flavors, such as chocolate peanut butter. In addition to providing readily available energy, the dextrose provides sweetness.
