Seeing as this doesn't seem to have been answered, for all three previous comments, currently the only method of changing your subscription is to cancel and restart your subscription. This is also the only known way to "pause" your subscription as well.

O_O I'm so sorry. I've been very busy lately, and did not realize how long I've been letting this project languish. I've made some progress on it, though. So hopefully I can find time, here and there, to get it to a usable state soon. So don't worry,…

Interesting; that recipe is pretty simple. I'll edit this with the multivitamin I use in a bit, but I'm curious as to how good it actually is. I did make a slight modification to the recipe though; added about 1 Tsp of Ground Cinnamon, and 1 Tbps of…

So I've tried Joylent and Aussie Soylent now. If you buy Joylent in large quantities it works out pretty cheap but tit for tat Aussie soylent is currently cheaper for their 5day pack vs the 15 meal pack from Joylent. This is because they have a flat fee…

Sold to ravenvii, sorry Noam, they had PM'ed and payed first.

Yeah, I avoid ebay/paypal whenever possible. Horrible company ... High fees.
asympt - Sep 22, 2014 12:52am
That's a generous way to pass it on, since you have an eBay account and could sell it there. Someone (Noam, I guess) will be very happy!

The Frigoverre 77-oz glass pitcher is squat and squarish, to fit easily on a shelf instead of in the door, so it doesn't look at all like the Takeya. But really, it's great, and I think the squarish shape, besides making it more space-efficient on the…

Thank you all for letting me know about this. I'm going to request a sample from RFI to run sensory on. If something seems off I'm going to send it to a lab. The last few times we have run a blind test we couldn't find a difference. I'm not saying it's…

Soylent is better chilled. But there're some DIY-blends that supposed for hot consuming. Most popular - Chocolate blend if you fill it with hot water, milk or instant coffee. There are some soup versions also, check Powdered Foods Marketplace for alternatives.
Spaceman - Sep 21, 2014 6:49pm
I travelled with bottles of 100%FOOD in my backpack through USA-Russia-Spain-Netherlands-USA.No problems with customs (except curiosity). And regular shipments to many countries justify that soylent is a "customs friendly" product.
Spaceman - Sep 21, 2014 6:45pm
Flavor packs: little packets of specific flavors you purchase separately and add when mixing. Natural flavors will change your nutrients profile (calories, vitamins, etc.) Artificial flavors don't, but they are chemicals What do you prefer?

I'd like a way to change subscriptions as well, what if I decide I want to eat more actual food one month? I'm stuck with 28 days no matter what?
ravenvii - Sep 21, 2014 6:35pm
A pitcher that looks exactly like the Takeya pitcher... but glass. That'd be the dream. You couldn't believe how much easier it is to wash glass than plastic. With glass you don't even need soap -- it just washes off, just like that.
ruipacheco - Sep 21, 2014 6:34pm
That's only a month. Looks like Joylent is reaching Soylent levels of productivity.
aholelotapain - Sep 21, 2014 6:23pm
I would be surprised if it was an allergy. I don't have any reaction to the consumption of Soylent nor do I have any known allergies. It really is as the OP says, a feeling of passing VERY spicy food. I don't know much about biology but I do digest…
davecortesi - Sep 21, 2014 6:02pm
Interesting, I'd not heard of them. But the biggest capacity I see at blenderbottle.com is 32oz, not big enough for a full packet of soylent which needs 64. But the "patented BlenderBall(tm)" is cute, I can certainly see Rosa teaming up with blenderbottle…
AgentSpiff - Sep 21, 2014 5:14pm
BlenderBottles have become popular and I think they'd do well to incorporate similar into the starter kit as well as a better shaped pitcher (which I retired when I got this monster 2L thermos). Also helpful would be to use oil bottles with a semi-opaque…

I'll estimate Christmas day. EDIT: multiple people have said Christmas. I will adjust to a week before Christmas.

Does anyone drink/use their Soylent hot? I often boil my water for treatment because either the weather is cold or I want my morning tea or coffee. A 2000 calorie packet doesn't come close to the calorie requirements of backpacking. How many packets…
behrangsa - Sep 21, 2014 9:41am
Looks like there's hope! I mixed the pancaky one with some Nesquick as @AgentSpiff had suggested and added 1 teaspoon of honey on top and it is now actually a little bit delicious. Will try it with banana as well when I get the next pack.
asympt - Sep 21, 2014 9:39am
You might not think it as stylish but I love my Frigoverre glass pitcher--it's not plastic, it's perfectly watertight, and it's easy to wash (though to wash the lid thoroughly you should take it apart when you do).
asympt - Sep 21, 2014 9:34am
To date, that's how they've been advising people to handle it. When you reorder/resubscribe, using your existing email address, they'll treat you as a current rather than new customer.
asympt - Sep 21, 2014 9:31am
You'll probably find Soylent too sweet, but the unsweetened dark cocoa trick seems to work for a lot of people with that reaction. Sadly, I like sweets, so it's fine for me, but even I notice the sweetness.
asympt - Sep 21, 2014 9:28am
Agreed, if this were a relatively common occurrence it would be all over this board, not just a couple of reports in this topic. I wonder if you're having an allergic reaction to something in the Soylent.
asympt - Sep 21, 2014 9:24am
You can try DIY-type soylents that other people make for you from @axcho, @spaceman, or a number of other sellers at the www.powderedfoods.com marketplace. None of them are exactly like Soylent, but they are good small-s soylent options, and you can…

I'm on my 4th week of 50% Soylent, which pretty much makes me an old hand at this, and I've been speculating on what Rosa Labs might, or could, or really ought to do as they develop the product further. Here are some ideas that occurred to me; I hope…

Gonna necro this thread here, but the alternative was to create my own new one so I'll go with that. Hi! I'm qgroff, a day one backer. I ordered one week at first then a second week 10 days later. I got my Soylent today (only got one week, so I've…

The other thread covers this better, but the new information just explains some of the mechanism, and further confirms, an already known effect- consuming very large amounts of artificial sweetener in zero- or low-calorie foods causes glucose intolerance.…

I am quite looking forward to this. My fiancee and I ordered a 4 week supply each on May 31st.

Now, I'm going to react to the actual article that was referenced above from the New York Times. I happen to be interested in the issue of the microbiome and what we have been doing to it in recent decades. The article focuses on artificial sweeteners.…
EveB - Sep 20, 2014 10:24pm
Oh, I do agree. My favourite approach (which I've written about elsewhere) is to train your palate so that you lower your understanding of what amount of sweetness is normal. I find most confectioneries actually gross. I enjoy the baked goods of one particular…
phoenixkc - Sep 20, 2014 10:23pm
Almost definitely should have received a 4 week order by now. Probably even a 2 week order depending on how you place the 2 orders. If my 1 week order is anything to go by. Email info@soylent.me as per the blog.
phoenixkc - Sep 20, 2014 10:20pm
Holy crap it's here. Today. In New York. In my fridge. Did you guys use the shipping delay to invent teleportation? Did you take all the crowd funding money and invest in Elon Musk's Hyperloop? If this is indicative of future shipping speed, I'm glad…
ravenvii - Sep 20, 2014 9:57pm
I'll argue that sucralose is something we should discuss and argue against using -- we have known for a while that artificial sweeteners aren't good for you, and is actually more unhealthy than sugar. It's not stopping me from consuming Soylent -- I…

Whatever else may decrease reporting it is not embarrassment. Not among this group. In fact, I have learned so much about the diversity of toilet habits and consequences from these forums that I actually feel better about what I consider an atypical crap…
EveB - Sep 20, 2014 9:07pm
Then if it's so scary, just don't do the Soylent thing. Or if you're that fond of the concept try some of the non-sucralose DIY. I don't understand why you put this amount of time into something that is not a mass concept (the sucralose battle would be…
JoeConte - Sep 20, 2014 8:44pm
This is disheartening to say the least; I hope Rosa Labs will be addressing this soon.
aholelotapain - Sep 20, 2014 8:08pm
Same problem here. I'm quite surprised there isn't more of a uproar about this. It seems to me that Soylent is causing some anal leakage and this is causing a-hole irritation (perhaps due to some of the grit that is contained in the leak?). If I wipe…

I've had my eye on Soylent pretty much since Day One -- before crowdfunding started, and even before Kickstarter turned the project down. I'm a college student on a college student's budget, and I wasn't financially able to join in on crowdfunding when…

A medium banana adds only about 400mg potassium, which is just barely 10% RDA, so it's not enough to be a problem: http://nutritiondata.self.com/facts/fruits-and-fruit-juices/1846/2
Frankz - Sep 20, 2014 7:14pm
That's just somebody's DIY soylent they're making and selling themselves, like Schmoylent, Joylent, People Chow, 100%Food, etc. That's not official Soylent from Soylent.me (Rosa Labs).Several of these DIY sellers in the US and EU, but that's the only…
ravenvii - Sep 20, 2014 7:09pm
I agree; it is very disappointing that Rosa Labs opted for sucralose in Soylent instead of sugar. I always put sugar in my coffee, never Splenda or any of that crap, for this very reason. I knew artificial sweeteners are bad for you, and sugar (in moderation)…
davidhunternyc - Sep 20, 2014 6:59pm
On September 17, 2014, an article appeared in the New York Times about the probable dangers of consuming artificial sweeteners. This article directly relates to the use of sucralose in Soylent. Because of this article, I most likely will not reorder Soylent.…

When I voiced my concern about the use of sucralose in Soylent, I didn't find much discourse on the matter. Then 2 days ago I was reading the New Times, and found this: http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2014/09/17/artificial-sweeteners-may-disrupt-bodys-blood-sugar-controls/…
Spaceman - Sep 20, 2014 6:38pm
I think such posts confirm that Soylent got it's place on a food market.Soon we can expect more reviews about "nutritionally complete food category" and comparisons. Soylent vs. Haute cuisine restaurants?
Alrecenk - Sep 20, 2014 6:18pm
Dug through my past emails, and it looks like my Soylent payment was charged on 5/29/2013.

Adding berries or chocolate can make a huge difference in the taste. You may check these instructions how to make smoothies or DIY-soylent yummy.

(I posted this on reddit a couple days ago, but I'm hoping it will get some more attention here.) I've been on DIY soylent for the past 3 months, using this recipe. Overall it's been a good run, but I'm getting a little tired of it and am thinking about…

Because it is nutritionally complete and amazingly lacking in stuff you don't need, you've got some wiggle room to spruce up the mix a little. Remember that it might seem counterproductive if you're looking at the numbers compared to official Soylent,…
suckrpnch - Sep 20, 2014 1:39pm
No. I wouldn't. People chow is terrible in comparison to Soylent, and it is super easy to make. It would hurt the brand.

That is trite. "Give us more money"? That is such a childish view of the system that has been put in place. People who ordered a lot will take longer to reorder. That is pretty simple. People who ordered a small amount will need turn around and reorder.…
