Overview
This is my ongoing recipe following the US RDI, with some adjustments based on my own research. This may be suitable for everyone, as I have tried to tailor it to my own perceived requirements. It should, however, be a decent starting point for other people to build from, and does ensure all nutrients fall within RDA and UL.
Ingredient Notes
- Polydextrose: Cost is zero because Honeyville accidentally shipped me a 50lb bag instead of maltodextrin, then didn't ask for it back. I don't know if I'd recommend using polydextrose as the first choice for a fiber source. Try psyllium husk or acacia fiber instead.
Updates
2014-11-09: Modified values based on recommendations made by the linear optimizer at http://soylentdiy-jstorry.rhcloud.com/. Among the changes are a higher ratio of oats to maltodextrin (the carb crashes were getting annoying) and increased flaxseed (hopefully better emulsion, and a review of research seems to show that pytoestrogen is not a serious issue).
